We take our ponytails seriously here at The Braid Up. Whether they're stitched, sleek, or textured, any and all variations of ponies are very much our thing, including "The Infinity Pony" making its debut on today's episode. This look is a MOMENT. The visual oomph of the statement-making side braid is one thing, but the illusion of never-ending length really brings it home. Expert stylist and The Braid Up veteran Jeizel Chaucer is the mastermind behind this beauty, and we are forever grateful to her for it.
Ready to take on this stunner? Here are some tips to keep it looking 10/10.
1. Pre-poo during prep. Sure, it's an extra step, but it's totally worth it IMO. Pre-pooing will prevent tangling and breakage while you wash and add much-needed moisture to your strands and scalp too.
2. Keep it slick. The super-sleek aspect of this style is part of it's magic, so we can't let frizz get in the way. A mousse or styling cream (like the ones below) will help minimize flyaways, but be sure to not go overboard—a few dollops should do the trick without being overly greasy.
3. Add some color. Personalize this braid with some shade variation. Like, imagine how good this style would look with a pop of deep burgundy braiding hair??
4. Protect your hair while you sleep. Tying your hair down at night is essential for keeping it in tip-top shape. Tie on a silk headscarf to prevent friction using a reliable wrapping method.
